Do any of you listen to music while you're cycling?

My route home is almost completely devoid of traffic and I think it'd be safe, but there's a niggling voice in my head. I'm also unsure where my MP3 player would actually go... do you just have a really long headphone cable running back into your backpack? 

Or is this all insanity and totally unsafe?

That said, after the halfway point of my ride home, it's all footpaths and I rarely pass another human being...
